Some of us are in a season of great blessing; others of us are waiting and trusting Jesus to see the breakthrough we are believing for. It is in the more challenging seasons that our confidence can be tested, challenged and eroded.
Confidence has so much reward, yet it can be neglected, stolen or discarded, especially when those tougher seasons seem so permanent. Often it’s in the period of waiting that confidence can quietly be eroded. We can find ourselves going down paths of thinking that are negative and destructive. There have been times when I’ve been tempted to disqualify myself, even to the point of thinking I’m doing the church a favour, when really its just been a confidence battle.
Natural confidence is a great thing, yet it’s finite and runs out on us all; however Godly confidence is totally different to natural confidence.
“ .. So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord.” (Hebrews 10:35 NLT)
Hebrews 10 sets the platform for the source of our confidence. It all comes from the finished work of Jesus. This confidence is supernatural, from another world, is complete and limitless in supply no matter what the circumstances, storms and discouragements.
And it is always available.
If you find yourself in a season where you are lacking confidence, patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised.
So hang on to your confidence. Don’t give it away. Don’t let someone else or a situation take it from you. It’s valuable and will be rewarded.
TODAY: TAKE ANOTHER LOOK… at the source of your confidence.
